Playing Games with GNU/Linux users
Jun 10th, 2006 | By Chris | Category: Games, SoftwareI was discussing the Games that Empower project with some hardcore gamers and they said something like “but there aren’t any real games on Linux” so I just wanted to share some info about some of the other games that you can play. Some of them you have to pay for and some don’t make the source code available. Here’s some of the well known ones that we can play together.
- Wolfenstein Enemy Territory
- Quake 3
- Unreal tournament
- Second Life
- Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos
- World of Warcraft
That will do, there’s probably heaps more but I think thats enough to prove my point. Windows users don’t even have a 3D desktop. For the Warcraft games you need to run them using Wine. My younger bro is right into those games so its nice to be able to play them with him.
